Bay Roberts RCMP arrested two men Saturday afternoon at around 1:30 p.m. in a high-risk takedown on Route 70.
RCMP Const. Bryan Vaughn says they started an investigation in the early morning hours Saturday.
“Two males were alleged to have brandished a handgun at a local bar,” said Vaughn.
After investigating, the RCMP tracked down the van Saturday afternoon. RCMP arrested the two men in the cube van. The men are now in police custody.
RCMP also executed a search warrant at another location later in the day on Saturday, where they found evidence used in the commission of a firearms-related offence.
The two suspects are in custody with charges pending. The investigation is ongoing.
